The Internet of Things (IoT) can also be defined through its use, which is precisely the exchange of information between things, people and applications. This information exchange is mediated by communications, storage and data sharing platforms.
Although there are some initiatives for the creation of IoT platforms, there is still no established infrastructure, especially with regard to communication standards. This is because the “things” connected to the Internet are quite diverse and have quite different requirements regarding communication, which leads us to visualize an Internet of Things with several protocols, each one with its specifics to attend the different “things” that will coexist.
