The Center for Innovation and Pre-Clinical Trials (CIEnP) is an EMBRAPII Unit accredited to act in the area of research and development of medicines. CIEnP is a non-profit company funded by the Federal Government and the Government of the State of Santa Catarina, which was designed to act according the requirements of national and international regulatory bodies, helping to reverse the current scenario of the national pharmaceutical industry and insert Brazil among countries capable of developing and, exporting medicines in the not too distant future. Also, CIEnP aims to provide the development of high-level scientific research, being able to act both in the training of human resources (master’s, doctorate, and post-doctorate), as well as to develop research to increase the production of patents and products innovative.
Located in the southern region of the country, in the Florianópolis city, CIEnP has a built area of 5,300 m², 24 research laboratories containing modern equipment to carry out non-clinical studies on the efficacy and safety of pharmaceutical products. CIEnP can meet the demand of industries, concerning the performance of high-quality non-clinical trials (for the analysis of molecules of synthetic origin, biologicals, phytomedicines, and others).
CIEnP’s technical team has experienced managers and qualified researchers (Ph.D.), in addition to technical support, aimed at developing non-clinical studies. Study directors are involved in all critical phases of study design, conduct, and reporting. In many cases, study directors personally conduct specialized observations and procedures. We also have on our team veterinarians and certified veterinary pathologists.
CIEnP, through financing from investment funds, government resources, risk contracts, or even from its own resources, develops research to add value to new molecules, plant extracts, and cosmeceutical products, aiming at the transfer to the productive sector.
