Qualified in the development of Metal-Mechanical Technologies, the Mechanical Engineering College (FEMEC) of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) is accredited by EMBRAPII acting in the lines of Union Technologies (Welding), Repair and Addition, Surface Technologies and New Technologies in Measurement of Mechanical Properties and Behavior.
From the partnership with different industrial sectors, manufacturing, oil and gas, mining, aerospace, energy, sugar and alcohol, agricultural, military and automotive, FEMEC seeks to meet its mission of consolidating itself as the most modern Brazilian technological complex for the development Metal-Mechanical Technologies, providing innovative solutions through the realization of RD&I in partnership with companies and contributing to the formation of a solid technological base focused on the competitiveness of the national industry.
With a physical infrastructure of 2,262 m2 and personnel (83 people) with theoretical knowledge and also with differentiated familiarity with the reality of the factory operations, it is possible to highlight some projects in partnership with EMBRAPII:
- Research, Development and Innovation of MIG/MAG Wires, with the company BELGO BEKAERT ARAMES.
- Project of Evaluation of Mechanical Properties and Integrity under Hydrogenation in Miniatures Samples, with the company PETROBRAS.
- Development of Corrosion Resistant Components for Heat Exchange Systems of Sugar and Alcohol Plants, with BP BIOCOMBUSTÍVEIS company.
About FEMEC
Created in 1965, FEMEC is part of the organizational structure of the Federal University of Uberlândia, with the objective of reducing the risks of the RD&I business, focusing on Innovation, compliance with consolidated competencies, professionalization in the execution and correct projects management. In addition to EMBRAPII recognition, FEMEC has ANP accreditations (National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) and IIW (International Institute of Welding).
