The IFMG Innovation Pole is accredited as an EMBRAPII Unit to carry out Research, Development and Innovation projects in the Intelligent Automotive Systems competency area, having as subareas: Embedded Applications and Inter and Extra Vehicular Communication Protocols.
Highlights of two projects already carried out in partnership with EMBRAPII:
- Intelligent traffic light for flow control in case of presence detection
- Intelligent Electronic Point System and Integrated Automotive Vehicle Production for Low Connectivity Environments
About the IFMG Innovation Pole:
The Innovation Center of the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFMG), located at Formiga-MG Campus, is an organizational entity as defined by Decree 19/2015 of the Ministry of Education. Its organizational structure is composed of a General Directorate, a Coordination of Management and Prospecting of Projects of RD&I and two other coordination areas dedicated to the Administrative and Financial sectors. In addition, the center is supported by the Technological Innovation Center (NIT/IFMG) and the renowned Arthur Bernardes Foundation (FUNARBE).
Focusing on the development of software and vehicle systems, the Innovation Pole of IFMG has a qualified and multidisciplinary faculty of professors/researchers, composed by computer scientists, engineers, physicists, administrators, among others. Researchers work in scientific computing laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and software for the development of RD&I projects, as well as the Laboratory of Intelligent Automotive Systems.
