UCSGRAPHENE is an EMPRAPII Unit accredited to operate in the automotive production line around the world, with emphasis on advanced materials, composites, high-performance nanocomposites, and multicomponent materials. Focusing on developing improvements in the production processes of automotive components and studies for the application of graphene and other materials on an industrial scale.

The unit has a vocation for the development of products and processes of the automotive production line, road implements, self-propelled machines, and others. Acting with a focus on the development of production lines and increasing the competitiveness of suppliers.

Experience

Linked to the University of Caxias do Sul, UCSGRAPHENE brings together more than 17 years of advanced research in nanotechnology for the production of graphene and its derivatives, being able to provide high-quality products and viable solutions for the development of the industrial sector.

It has experience in research, development and innovation projects (Research, Development & Innovation) in the area of materials with companies in the automotive sector, and their components, road implements, self-propelled machinery, and others.

Infrastructure

UCSGRAPHENE has a dedicated facility for the production, characterization and application of graphene and its derivatives, nanomaterials or other materials. And it operates with strict quality control.

It also counts upon the infrastructure of the university, which is a reference in laboratories of development and validation in polymeric materials, paints and coatings, composites and nanocomposites, multicomponent materials, and others.  It also counts with a network of researchers from various areas of activity, who are available, and can be reached according to the demands of each project.

About UCSGRAPHENE

UCSGRAPHENE is a business unit of the University of Caxias do Sul, aimed at meeting the demands of research, development and innovation in the area of materials. In a strategic way, UCSGRAPHENE, through the provision of technological services, acts in three major operations: (1) Research, Development and Innovation (R,D&I) for the application of graphene and/or its derivatives to the industry; (2) Scientific/technological characterization of graphene and/or its derivatives; (3) Graphene production with capacity for more than 5.000kg/year.

Concerned about environmental responsibility, UCSGRAPHENE has a green plant, which takes advantage of rain water, and the water and waste generated are reused and treated.

UCSGRAPHENE is growing rapidly, and has the potential to deliver disruptive developments to the domestic industry, corroborating the strategic positioning of the national industry, competing with major players worldwide.
