LAMEF/UFGRS (Physical Metallurgy Laboratory) is qualified to develop projects in RD&I in the area of Structural Integrity , which involves the sub-areas of Structural Integrity, Control and Monitoring, Reliability, Development of New Materials, Development of Inspection Systems, Non-destructive Techniques and Component Homologation.

• Reliability Project of Structural Monitoring Systems (SHM) using Lamb Waves and the establishment of standard methodology for probability of detection (POD) of SHM, with Embraer company.
• Evaluation project of fatigue life of flexible ducts using SN curves of the metallic armatures and establishment of standard methodology of tests and analyzes, with the company Technip FMC.

LAMEF/UFGRS is a laboratory linked to the University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and is highly focused on the interaction with the productive sector, it has extensive experience in the execution of technological services and in the development of innovation projects. It stands out in several areas of activity especially in the Petrochemical area. In addition to a strong link with several areas of Petrobras, it has a very close relationship with the Agência Gaúcha de Desenvolvimento (AGDI), with REDE PETRO-RS and the Petroleum, Gas and Energy Competitiveness Committee (CCPGE) of the Industrial Federation of Rio Grande do Sul (FIERGS).
